Matilde Maxi Spherical Earrings

Every year for Christmas, my grandmother would give us something very special, something she would save up for months to buy. Because it was so special, it was only enough for one of us. The grandchildren who didn’t receive one that year had to make do with two pairs of socks. She was always so practical.

And the best gift was always a piece of jewelry, because she considered it a good investment for life. She was always wise.

Mine was a necklace of strung jet beads, a very Galician tradition, with its gold clasp.

It had its days of celebration and joy, until, once I trained as a jeweler, I decided to use it my way, giving it a vision and a use that I loved. That’s why those beautiful jet beads have become the earrings that, undeniably, bear her name.

Combining my passion for design with paying homage to one of my favorite people makes me wear this legacy with special pride.
